What does Botox treatment involve?

Before botox treatment is given, we carry out a full consulatation with the client the procedure itself involves a minute, safe quantity of Botox is administered using a extremely fine needle, concentrating on the muscles of the forehead and around the eyes.

The procedure does not require a topical anaesthetic cream and is known as ‘the lunchtime procedure’, no marks are visible on the face after half an hour or so.

The full effect of treatment will not been not seen until ten to fourteen days after the intial treatment has been administered. A follow-up appointment is made for around this time.

Our clients are often delighted with the results.

What about Dermal Filling, whats that?

As we get older our skin loses moisture, and we see lines and wrinkles develop. Hyaluronic Acid is the substance naturally present in our cells which keeps the skin smooth and supple. As we get older, the levels of Hyaluronic Acid in the skin decrease and we lose moisture, creating lines and wrinkles.

Dermal fillers are simply a "top-up" injection of Hyaluronic Acid which restores the skin volume and as such reduce wrinkles.

It sounds painful, does it hurt?

The extremely small diameter needle used for Botox treatment means that many of our customers do not feel anything at all.

The Dermal filling treatment is slight different and depends on the area being treated and the amount of filler used but it is far from painful, at worst you may feel very slight discomfort while the filler is being adminstered so we use a topical anaethetic cream just to be sure of your comfort.

These are both treatments that can usually be carried out in your lunch hour before returning to work.

Who can have Botox treatment, is it suitable for everybody?

For safety reasons no pregnant or nursing females will be treated.

Patients with a history of neuromuscular disease (multiple sclerosis and myasthenia gravis) or other types of disease affecting neurotransmission should avoid this treatment.
